Product Warranty and Non-Warranty Returns Policy

This Product Warranty is provided by Sling Media, Inc of 1051 East Hillsdale Blvd, Suite 500, Foster City, California 94404, U.S.A.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU ARE A CONSUMER IN THE EUROPEAN UNION THIS PRODUCT WARRANTY DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS CONTACT YOUR LOCAL AUTHORITY, TRADING STANDARDS DEPARTMENT, CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU OR LOCAL EQUIVALENT.

Product Warranty:

What Does This Warranty Cover? This warranty only covers defects in Slingbox hardware products purchased from the Sling Media online store and from Sling Media authorized resellers. To check if a seller is a Sling Media authorized reseller, please visit http://www.slingmedia.com and click on the "BUY" tab.

How Long Does the Coverage Last? Your Slingbox hardware product is warranted to be free of defects for two (2) years from the original date of purchase.

What will Sling Media Do? If your Slingbox hardware product is defective, Sling Media will repair or replace it with the same product, or another product with similar features.

How Do You Get Warranty Service? Please contact the Sling Media technical support team to verify eligibility. Contact information is available at http://support.slingmedia.com. Once the Sling Media technical support agent determines that your eligible Slingbox product is defective, that agent will provide you with a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number and the address of the Sling Media Returns Center. To assist us in handling your warranty claim, please return your defective product to the Sling Media Returns Center with the relevant RMA number. You must contact Sling Media to obtain the RMA number and address for the Sling Media Returns Center prior to returning any product to Sling Media.

Sling Media will use reasonable efforts to send the original Slingbox hardware product, or a replacement product, to you within 10 business days. Repaired or replacement products will be shipped to you at Sling Media’s expense. Where a defective Sling Media product is returned to us under this warranty, Sling Media will also reimburse you for the reasonable costs incurred by you in shipping the original Slingbox hardware product to Sling Media’s Returns Center for repair or replacement. In the alternative, Sling Media may provide you a prepaid shipping label to allow you to return the defective Slingbox hardware product at no charge to you.

What Does This Warranty Not Cover? You may only exercise this warranty from within the EU with respect to Slingbox hardware products purchased in the EU. Sling Media will not send repaired or replacement products to addresses outside the EU with respect to Slingbox hardware products purchased in the EU.

Also, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, damages which neither you or Sling Media could foresee are not recoverable under this warranty. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of such damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. In particular, Sling Media does not limit or exclude its liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Sling Media may charge for the repair of any Slingbox hardware products which are not covered by this warranty or your statutory rights at a rate of €150, which includes costs to ship the repaired or replacement product to you.

Non-Warranty Returns Policy:

For products purchased at Sling Media’s online store

Please note that if you are a consumer in the EU the following Returns Policy does not affect your statutory rights, including any cancellation rights you may have under Directive 97/7 EC on the protection of consumers in respect of distance contracts as implemented by local law in your jurisdiction ("Distance Selling Directive"). For further information about your statutory rights, please contact your local authority, trading standards department, citizens advice bureau or local equivalent.

If you purchased your Slingbox hardware product directly from Sling Media’s online store and are dissatisfied, you may cancel your contract and return it:

  • in accordance with the Distance Selling Directive; or
  • within 14 days from original shipment, as long as the Slingbox hardware product is in good condition.

Please contact the Sling Media Online Store billing support team to obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number. Please visit our web site at http://support.slingmedia.com to find the applicable phone and email contact information. Our agents will help you through the process through which you can return your product. Products must be shipped to Sling Media’s designated Returns Center using a trackable shipping method, and packaged appropriately for safe shipment.

To assist us in handling your return, please send your Slingbox hardware product to the Sling Media Returns Center with the relevant RMA number. You must contact Sling Media to obtain the RMA number and address for the Sling Media Returns Center prior to returning any product to Sling Media. Please note that where you return your Slingbox hardware product under this Non-Warranty Returns Policy you will be responsible for the costs of returning your Slingbox hardware product to Sling Media.

Upon receipt at the designated Sling Media Returns Center, Sling Media will refund the purchase price of your product (including tax).

  • If you return your product in accordance with your rights under the Distance Selling Directive, your original (outward) shipping and handling costs will also be refunded.
  • If you return your product outside this period, your original (outward) shipping and handling costs will not be refunded.

For products purchased from authorized resellers

If you purchased your product from an authorized reseller(online or in person), you may be eligible for a full credit in accordance with the authorized reseller’s return policy. You should contact the authorized reseller where you purchased the product, as return policies vary. Sling Media cannot accept product returns for products purchased from an authorized reseller except where the Slingbox hardware product is damaged or defective in accordance with the terms of the Product Warranty. If you are dealing as a consumer in the EU, your statutory rights are not affected.
