Sling Media is a digital lifestyle products company creating a family of consumer electronics products that are a natural extension of today’s digital lifestyle. The first member of the Sling Media family is the award winning Slingbox™, a device that allows consumers to watch and control their living room television at any time, from any location, via the Internet and a Windows based computer, PDA, or mobile phone. Sling Media is located in Foster City, CA.
We are currently seeking a VP, Marketing to plan, develop, and oversee implementation for marketing initiatives at Sling Media. This person is responsible for the overall direction of creative services and marketing.
Responsibilities:
- Directs the creation and execution for promotions and marketing programs in an effort to increase market share.
- Establishes goals and departmental objectives for the Marketing department.
- Responsible for long-term planning and direction of Sling Media’s Marketing and creative services.
- Plans, executes and controls department budget and finances.
- Evaluates and understands market reactions to promotional programs and product and service packaging to adjust marketing plans and strategies to increase Sling’s customer base and new product demand.
- Approves development and recommends new packaging in the form of brochures, catalogs, and commercials through creation of copy and graphics.
- Responsible for mentoring and training upper-level marketing management staff as well as all aspects of personnel management for the department.
- Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager including planning, evaluating, controlling and tracking against goals, budget, and timetables.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred; or 5 years related experience and/or training; and 10 plus years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have industry experience.
